I need to get some business work done here:
First order of business, I need to thank the lovely lady Meghan over at i give a crop and Meghan Mondays. Meghan has been SOOOOPER helpful throughout this whole “Green Scene” development, from sending magazines with the little earmarked pages (how cute and caring is that?) to posting every Monday, to being a fantastic friend and keeping amazingly hopeful and (deliriously?) happy spite her recent ‘deselection’. She has been chosen as the Orlando Scrapbook Examiner – check out her page often, she has great crafty articles, even some familiar Meghan Monday articles will be featured on there!
Second order of business, self promotion. I had added the “RSS” option to the Green Scene, so you can keep up with your FAVORITE blog more readily. I am researching other ways to keep you more current, and looking at other ‘homes’ – so we’ll keep you updated!
Ok, back to blog-y stuff.
The Purple Book reviews the top Internet shopping sites, applies high standards for online buying – now is offering us eco types a “Green edition”. They are selling it on Amazon right now, for a discounted price of $10.16. The guide’s list of 400 + sites covers nearly every type of sustainable, fair-trade and non-toxic product.
Some cities already have their own edition, like New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, there are 50 more in the works (please say Tampa!). Greenopia series shows residents and visitors alike that there’s a whole lot more that’s green in a city than you think. Among the more than 50 categories, you’ll find everything from organic restaurants to eco day spas along with tips from the city’s top environmentalists.
