Recently my co-workers and boyfriend have been calling me Betty Crocker…I’ve had the baking itch…
So today’s Waggin’ Wednesday’s post is about home cooked or close to home cooked food for your pets.
I’m not a “fan” of Rachael Ray, but her magazine actually has some decent stuff in it, and I liked her back in the day before she got all loud and annoying. She does have a great archive of pet stomach-friendly treats. Check out the recipes for things from meatballs and casseroles to even cupcakes. There has been some good reviews for the Peanut-Carob Isabooscotti (her dog is named Isaboo) – seems like a fun baking project for Christmas presents.
Secondly, I was watching the Food Network (I could watch Ace of Cakes all day everyday, and not get tired of it) and saw a great company, The Honest Kitchen. This great place has dogs running around as ‘testers’ and develops all of this fantastic food for dogs and cats.
“Our food bridges the gap between raw, homemade and commercial, ‘kibbled’ pet foods. We start with fresh, raw ingredients and gently dehydrate them so that almost all the valuable vitamins, minerals and enzymes remain. Dehydration makes food completely safe even for pups, and senior pets with compromised immune systems. Our finished products are nutritious, delicious, and healthy – some even call them gourmet!”
