There are only a few things that I love as much as green crafting and one of those things is animals, doggies in particular. So when I came across the Animal Rescue Site (thanks to Laura) I was super excited. Not only did they have lots of super cool pet stuff, every purchase you make helps feed rescued animals. How cool is that? According to their website, “When you shop at The Animal Rescue Site store, each item you buy also helps fund food for animals — at no extra cost to you!” Every item lists how many bowls of food that particular purchase would provide. So you know right away how much you are helping out.

On their site they have an entire section of products made from handmade paper. Not only are these items beautiful, alot of them are also Green. The Asian Blossom Journal (which is just $18 and provides 14 bowls of food) for instance, is “crafted from the bark of the Lokta plant (Daphne Papyracea), grown in the Nepali foothills, and raw materials are purchased from co-operatives engaged in careful cultivation practices — only the bark is removed from the plant, promoting new growth within four years. Additionally, production waste and scraps are recycled into the natural cream pages.

With over 15 handmade paper products to chose from, from greeting cards to journals to gift wrap, you are bound to find something beautiful for yourself (or a friend) and help the animals at the same time. Also, if you aren’t up for making a purchase right now you can just go to their main page and click on the big purple button to give. Each click of the purple button is FREE and provides .6 bowls of food!
