We all know how it goes… you buy a craft supply because it is just TOO COOL, and then 8 months later it’s still sitting in your craft space and then you realize that you don’t even like it anymore. It’s just part of being a crafter! Well having all those supplies that you spent good money on sitting around collecting dust just isn’t a good idea. So what to do? Resell it! Just because you don’t want to use it doesn’t mean that someone else won’t.
A great idea is to hold or participate in a scrapbook/paper crafts yard sale. You could hold one on your own and sell to everyone you know. You could invite over your scrappy friends, set up a couple tables, and everyone could sell their stuff to each other. Or, one of the best ideas I’ve heard in awhile, you could attend a scrapbook yard sale at your local scrapbook store.
One of our local scrapbook stores, Scrappy Boutique, is holding it’s second annual “What was I thinking?” scrapbook yard sale. If you have scrapbook items that you want to get rid of you can sign up to be a vendor. Scrappy Boutique makes it easy for you – you simply pay the $5.00 entrance fee, price your items, and drop them off… then you earn store credit for all the items that sell. And if you don’t have things to sell, you can just swing by and buy other people’s stuff. Talk about some green shopping!
So next time you have a few too many crafting supplies on your hands, think about having a yard sale or participating in one at your local scrapbook store. You can end up with less stuff AND some extra cash.
