1005091127 As I’ve mentioned, Christmas is near, and our brains start thinking of perfect gifts for friends and family, fun glittery wrapping paper, bows, ribbons, crafts, holiday cards, the list goes on and on!

How About Orange, one of my favorite and longest blog love, recently shared a home concoction tutorial on how to make your own gift bow out of strips of magazine. I’ll let your creative mind run wild, but there’s probably hundreds of ideas that can be born from this. I used a page from a Rachel Ray magazine with a huge photo of strawberries on it. With all of the changes of layout, text, headlines, reverse side printing, it comes up with a gorgeous bow, not to ever be compared to a one color bow bought in the store – most likely made from oils and plastics – to be tossed out and never fully cherished by the receiver.

Go ahead, tear out a page of your magazine, try it with some paper scraps around your craft room, steal some junk mail out of the recycling bin…get crafty!

That’s a great idea. I love how it looks with a magazine, but I think it would also look good with solid paper, like the kraft paper from a grocery bag.
