0004468_00_enlarged_itemThe days are speeding by in 2009, and we can all look forward to what type of calendars we want to use throughout 2010. I have one on my desk, which I alternate each year, from dogs to cats, and back and forth.

I decided, for this post, and for all of the animal lovers, to find some “green” options.

First, if you want to make your own Photo Calendar with your pet photos, Pixxls offers a very green printing option. VOC-Free Toner, 30% to 100% Recycled Post Consumer Waste Paper and an option for soy based ink.

Want to be super green? Find a Perpetual Calendar, I love mine and use it every day. It never needs to be thrown away. The days and months flip around independently, so it’s never out of date! Check out this cute Dog Days Perpetual Calendar.

A cat fan? Check out the 2010 Mini Calendar of Andy Warhol’s Cats art. This eco-friendly mini calendar, printed on recyclable paper with soy inks, features 12 of the artist’s renditions of felines.

While this doesn’t feature animals, I found a gorgeous A5 sized calendar, this 2010 little calendar is made of 100% recycled paper for the internal pages and food cardstock rejects (the one that’s used for pasta packaging) for front and back cover. She uses a punch cutter, so it’s always completely hand made. The cover is one of a kind, as she draws it with soy ink by hand.

Want to make use of old calendars? This Etsy seller has repurposed a old calendar into Envelopes! This is a set of 8 C6 envelopes made from the pages of an old ‘CatCalendar Cats’ book by B.Kliban.
