Sit..Buy: Good Dog! by Laura

I know, I know. Where’s all the wedding posts? I’ll get to it soon enough – I need some recovery time!

A great find from Meghan, the World’s Best MOH!

I know how it is, you go into those big box pet stores and you ‘awwww’ at all of the cute leashes, collars, toys…but think for 2 seconds. Where is this stuff made? What is it made of? The second question is VERY important in my mind, since our dog loves to digest everything she chews on.

And that’s where “The Good Dog Company” comes in. Made in the USA, they make earth-friendly (and doggy friendly) goods for our fur-kids. Check out their cool store!

How cute is the “Man’s Best Friend” collar pattern?

HOW TO: use paint chips to continue a party theme by Laura

As I mentioned in my last post, I have a handful of these free paint chips in a variety of shades of orange. I have found another use for another set! I had some larger ones (about 3″ x 6″) that was one big swatch of 1 color. I had printed out just 3 little cupcake toppers to add to the Orange Creamsicle Cupcakes I will be making for the soiree. I had yet to figure out how to stiffen them up and attach them to a stick – voila!

I cut the chips in half (about 3″ x 3″) and pasted the little printouts onto them. I even left the paint chip color codes/color titles on them. Who wouldn’t with cool names like “Ripe Tangerine” and “Orange Sherbert” – or my fav: “Zesty.”

To tie it into everything else? Use the scraps to punch out some alternately colored little flowers.

The result? Super cuteness that Meghan can use a take home reminder of our night of sugar and booze (and most likely throw into a cool scrap page).

HOW TO: Make a $1 tiara even more fabulous by Laura

So I wanted to personalize a $1 tiara I bought at the Dollar Tree for my great friend Meghan for her “Orange You Glad I’m Divorced” Soire – a small get-together (possibly just the 2 of us) including orange cupcakes and lots o’ liquor. Who doesn’t need a tiara to make eating cupcakes and drinking even more fabulous?

Well, I combined one other project into one super cute project – since I just couldn’t figure out what to make/decorate with the small pile of paint chips I took from the WalMart paint section. I knew an array of orange swatches would prove useful.

Little glue, and my trusty little flower punch (I love punches, but I don’t love their price – so I have 2) and voila! A super cute AND custom tiara for a friend for the grand total of $1. (click on photo for a larger version)
